Story of pagerank, blogger, wordpress and more..

A couple of years ago the most important thing around for webmasters was how to increase Google page rank or PR. In those times, I was also in constant search for articles around the internet by using keywords like "how to increase the PR", "Increase the Page rank" etc. Occasionally I used to search for "Increase the Alexa ranking" keywords too. I was able to increase my page rank(maximum of 5 for a short duration) and increase my Alexa score to the range of 2,00,000. After that I migrated my blog to Wordpress, tried Drupal, again to Wordpress and then back here to blogger. if there wasn't a DB migration at my host side, i wouldn't have got my articles deleted in Wordpress and i wouldn't have came back to blogger. Every thing happened for good(courtesy: Bhagavat Geetha).
Last day when i migrated my page rank was 2 and this day its updated and is now 4! err.. What's happening Google?
What is left? I now have a mission in Hand, to migrate my blog sqaguy to blogger. i think I'll loose my articles in sqa blog.. wanna try all the options..

Pss.. ranking in alexa is getting difficult for beautiful minds.. may be cause its not a niche blog now.. I haven't even decided whether to keep this or to get rid of this when the time expires...

Alexa: Increase in rank : That was for a day!

The alexa rank went down again.. above 100000 for beautifulminds.in for the week... I think that phenomenon of increase in alexa rank was for a day.

Alexa Rank: 87770 for the last day : Sub 100000

Don't know what happened or how that happened.. but last day my alexa rank went up to 87770. So my stats were viewable :) Looks good... and I haven;t have done any magic to increase the alexa Ranking... Or haven;t checked those blogs / tutorials to increase alexa ranking...






I think Its all because of some extra readers from germany and United Kingsdom(UK). So alexa.. do you have geographical influence? I think so..

No social activities?

Alexa Traffic rank is almost constant now a days. Its around 3,50000. I dont know why but now a days i dont care about that and the tecnorati links as well.. :) Commenting on others blog is also not happening... Must be all due to the work am doing now a days.. All work and no games make jack a......

Alexa Rank: Reaching negative 400000 !: (Increase your Rank)

My Alexa rank now is 3,89,383 well, the three months change is 5770808

How did I achieve this?

The influencing factors may be

1. Labeling as a technical blog.

2. Writing about domain, Domain name change tips, Domain name transfer issues

3. Increase in traffic.

   ...etc.

So the guys with tool bars are visiting the blog.. and helping me to increase my score.

Tip: I used to visit almost all the blogs/ sites that are seen as comments and that will be counted as an Alexa visitor :).

Choose your niche
Your niche can be anything... from Artificial intelligence to facelifts, from aeronautic to nano-technology. But, after choosing the niche, make sure that you are sticking on to the same.

Niche and the Domain name
Blog/Site address is your passport for the online identity. When ever you choose your name for your niche blog make it sure that you have choose that wisely. (beautiful minds, cannot be a name for a pure technical blog, and its not.)
Why you should do that can be obtained from many prominent bloggers out there like dosh dosh.

Explosion of visitors?
many argue that niche blogging cannot bring in visitors beyond a limit. that is true to an extend. If you have a niche blog, then you can get people who are interested in your niche..

Pss.. write a post about Alexa every month.. u will earn some visitors..

Alexa: The geographical influence

Am I wrong in saying about UK india and korea? am not sure.. but here is a small observation... I saw a downward trend in weekly stats when US Rank dropped.. at that time indian Rank went 20000+ up and Uk 5000 down.

May be coz the number of people using alexa bar in US is more. :) .

Some oher stuffs

The number of feed subscribers is around: 60
and daily hits dropped.. dropped to the lowest in the last couple of months :(

Alexa: Korea, Uk or India? Let us try to increase the score

Last month i wrote the post about Alexa in Alexa rank increased.! Statistics reveals! Now i have made a small observation .. These days i noticed where are my visitors from.. And how is the rank get influenced by the individual ranking in other countries..
And the results reveal that higher ranking in Uk is increasing my possibility of ranking better.. Isn't that exciting? yeah.. more hits from Uk and that increased my ranking a lot..

I had a conversation with a korean last day and found that Firefox have got only a little share in the browser segment.. they all use IE.. does that have something to do with the webmasters saying that korean sites rank better? Donno for sure.. but many of those guys out there doesn't even know what alexa is :)

I would recommend you people to try increase hits from india(from the Indian blogging community).. Am sure you wont get a dedicated reader from india... but if that indian have atleast a post about alexa in his blog, then definitly he will help you increase your score...

Alexa rank increased.! Statistics reveals!

I was astonished to find that my alexa widget is showing nodata on alexa rank... I was curios what happened? I went to the alexa traffic details and my God, my Alexa chart was active! My rank was around five lakh for the week and yesterday it was 95681. The one week average shown is 223092.






What did the wonder? What turned the cards in my favour? The site http://beautifulminds.in is launched(yeah in its own domain) on november 14th 2007, and the total hits for the site when I am writing this post is just above 14000(13 K for this month alone).

I'm thinking.. Should I write a Post "How to Increase Alexa Ranking?" or even offer a service? "25 USD to bring the site to the 1,00,000 mark for the day in alexa?(+ 200 hits a day free ?)"
err.. not me.!


These were just experiments.. To check what is possible and what is not. And I do think it is easy to increase Alexa ranking... but difficult to maintain!

* a thanks should be said to all those people out there who wrote a whole lotta stuffs about alexa... how to move further.. about the widgets etc etc...

Happy New Year!

A new year, a new dream, new year Vows.!
Completed an year in blogspot! and the first Blog o the genre was a malayalam called alappuzhakaran

... Later started inside-n-outside.blogspot and then it was converted to a technical blog and then a domain change to http://beautifulminds.in .. The year 2007 went by like that..

2008 will have a new section called, malayalam ... and something Xtra. A lil stress on increasing alexa score.. to stream line the whole stuff.. a lot to do.!

My Alexa ranking went down a bit and settled in 1715400 ... Hope it will recover soon..!
