Twitter Error 500 : Internal server error

This day, I tried to log in to my twitter account with my user name and password and wooosh! It threw an internal server error(Error 500).

I've installed the version 4.0 Beta1 of Firefox. Haven't went through any review of firefox 4.0 beta1 before I installed it
Here is a screen shot of the application. Please note that if you need a stable version, stick on to the current version (3.6.6 is the current stable version of firefox).

As a first impression it is the new clean UI, the loaders and the option to give feed back that welcomes us.

Will try to post more on it when I start using it more.

Applications I can't live without : Part 1.

I work in the software Quality assurance field, and here are the Windows Applications I can't live without.(Doesn't involve the software testing apps - that list is endless). I use 3 windows OS: Win XP / Vista/ Win 7. These must have applications(atleast for me) are mostly free and open source which are sure to work in all the three OS. Check them out.

1. Notepad++: free as in both "free speech" and "free beer"
        - The replacement for notepad, having advance features, and easy to use with a tabbed interface. It helps me a lot in writing my technical blog, as well as do some basic programming as well.

2. Paint.Net :
        - Replacement for the Paint in Windows (the MSPaint in windows 7 is more powerful than the one in other versions like xp and vista). This application can handle layers, and can do almost all the adjustments that are needed for your small time picture editing needs.

3. Open Office :
        - Open Office(earlier with Sun, now with Oracle after the acquisition) is an open source office applications having almost all the capabilities of of MS Office. A true MS Office replacement and nifty to work with!

4. Foxit reader :
        - I use this instead of Adobe Acrobat reader to view *.pdf(Portable Document Format) files. Light to the memory, and easy to use.

5. Browsers - FireFox/ Chrome :
        - Firefox is the thing with fire in it's stomache and can be claimed as the IE killer - Open source, fast(except may be because of some scripts), and almost crash free. Chrome from Google is also reliable in most of the cases.
        FIrefox and Chrome can be obtained from their websites.

New building for Infopark; Athulya opened by Chief Minister

Infopark's new building, Athulya was inaugarated by Mr. V. S. Achuthanandan, the cheif minister of Kerala, India on last day. This Information Technology Park(Info Park) is the second initiative of Kerala Government in the field of Information Technology after technopark, Trivandrum, and already houses some of the big names in the industry. The chief minister also opened the 2.4 KM infopark express high way, that links the technology park to the sea port airport road.

Situated on 7.1 acres of land in Infopark SEZ, Athulya has a total built-up area of 5.5 lakh square feet and can house a software development block (with an area of 3.5 lakh square feet), a cafeteria building (with an area of 0.50 lakh square feet), and multi-level car parking facility (300 cars). With a total seating capacity of 4000, Athulya will have a total of 10 elevators (8 for the software development blocks and 2 for the cafeteria). With an average floor plate size of 50000 sq. ft. Athulya also boasts of facilities such as incubation centers; training rooms; direct four-lane connectivity road ...etc.

Here are some quick technology updates in this technical blog..

1. Google updated google interface.. But wait, its for the ipad. - and the change - full view of the compose window with no distraction with messages in the side showing the inbox

- Source: craig wilkinson(he is an SE with google mobile) in his post in google mobile blog

2. Mobile devices will be spotted with adobes latest release on Flash player (version 10.1 for mobile)

3. A couple of months back IRCTC released a beta version of their portal irctc.co.in. make sure that you try it (A little buggy for me though) the search is easy with all the available classes showing and even the print out of the ticket is neat. - wish to try? use the flashing beta banner on the top left of the site.

4. Black berry have a small set back with standard chartered bank replacing it's black berry devices with (so called) more advanced tools called iphone.

Off beat: Processor/ Chip giant AMD have started marketing its 12 core processors widely. A cute little ad appeared in Economic times with a kid holding weight and asking what is overloading!
An attractive and full page one!

It's been ages since i quit with the promotional activities of Beautifulminds.in. Last day when I checked with the data of the site I found that the word Technical blogs is attracting many a number of visitors to the site and when checked with Google India, I found that it is appearing in the first page. To rank in a key word like this wasn't something I expected.. Still its a good feeling that the word "Technical blogs" started generating more hits. From now on I will try to include more contents on the technical category (at least have to justify the search!).

Read an article in Businessline about the 3G auctions in India. The 3G tarrifs in India and the impact of the bid over the 3G specturum and so on.

BTW, in the bid Bharathi came out as the no:1 bidder with 12295 crores, and they do think that this rate is on the higher side (cue: prices of 3G may go up)

Story of pagerank, blogger, wordpress and more..

A couple of years ago the most important thing around for webmasters was how to increase Google page rank or PR. In those times, I was also in constant search for articles around the internet by using keywords like "how to increase the PR", "Increase the Page rank" etc. Occasionally I used to search for "Increase the Alexa ranking" keywords too. I was able to increase my page rank(maximum of 5 for a short duration) and increase my Alexa score to the range of 2,00,000. After that I migrated my blog to Wordpress, tried Drupal, again to Wordpress and then back here to blogger. if there wasn't a DB migration at my host side, i wouldn't have got my articles deleted in Wordpress and i wouldn't have came back to blogger. Every thing happened for good(courtesy: Bhagavat Geetha).
Last day when i migrated my page rank was 2 and this day its updated and is now 4! err.. What's happening Google?
What is left? I now have a mission in Hand, to migrate my blog sqaguy to blogger. i think I'll loose my articles in sqa blog.. wanna try all the options..

I was looking around for a new perfume store to get hold of a hugo boss, and i found a lot online. I went ahead and explore the local perfume market as well. (I dint get much choice and variety there.
From CK to HB, the range we can select from online store is enormous. but the feel you get from the local store is higher than the online version coz you can try and buy in some stores. The musculine smell of HB is cool and i love wearing the same.. My wife also recommend the same.

I was searching for a solution to recharge my mobile with Online SBI. An ya i found one. BSNL have tied up with billdesk for the same and is available in the bsnl portal for e recharge. There are options like recharge, topup and flexi charge your mobile. Go ahead and register yourselves and do the recharge. I've paid thru SBI, and many other bank's name are available. once you submit the designated amount, it got in to my account within minutes, though the sms came after 15 mins time.

Pss.. its juz 55 for the e voucher, which the vendor charges 56(paper voucher).

Sports always fascinated me. Browsing through the web to find answers for those technical queries and to get knowledge, I used to get stuck with sports news and sports stuffs. One of those sports that I love is the golf(remember the film Happy Gilmore?). The big names in Golf are Tiger woods, Arnold Palmer, Jack nicklaus. The game involves Big money and its one of the most revenue generating sport for an individual.

Frankly I knew little German, but thanks to the translation tools available on line, I used to browse through them and get the required info.

One of the interesting stuffs i recommended to one of my German friends were the vacation (Golf vacation ) they offered. I couldn't be in touch with her after that, so am not sure whether she utilized the same.

Url Shortening - make your marketing campaign easier.

A climate which i would like to enjoy this vacation. She said it is easy to find some neat and cozy Arizona homes there .We can even use the help of internet for the same. Be it the Bullhead City or the Winslow, we can enjoy the nice climate. Who are the most affected... I think in Alappuzha it must be the coir sector. Along with the petrol issue, coir sector in Alappuzha are affected with The current Lorry strike, The small scale coir manufacturers strike, The KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) Norms of allocating only 80% of what is spend last year, and the recent recession (cancellation of orders from out side India).

I do remember those days in which I was in love with her... Those days browsing from the Internet cafe were expensive... Writing a latter take ages to reach, Plus the risk of getting caught. I was away from home and Daily, the expense of telephone bills was mounting. There wasn't an immediate solution till we began to use calling cards. They were convenient to use and helped us a lot to control our telephone bills. And we do use the happy hours a lot, when the call charges were low. Antivirus - My system "crawls" slower!

These days my system became slow and when I checked AVG is taking a hell lots of resources.. avgrsx.exe is taking more memory when ever a browser window is opened. Think its high time I do a quick format for my system... And check with other anti virus options. (still I like AVG..).

I have already tried with many other Anti Virus tools that are available for free.. but nothing matched the protection offered by AVG. My laptop (running vista)doesnt have this much off issues as this desktop(running in XP) have...

From childhood days, I was fascinated about how computer works.. those little games, and characters moving on keystroke, storing my data all happens like a magic. I'm from alappuzha District in Kerala, India. None of the banks are giving credit card in Alappuzha? My application got rejected in SBI(I have my salary account there), ICICI, HDFC, Axis(Formerly UTI), and now Morgan stanley.

SBI havent issued any cards to people who have permanent address outside the ernakulam District (yeah, I do work in Ernakulam). Others juz say because of internal policies. Where can I get one card in Alappuzha?

So the main Area were the usage of concrete, which can be rectified by using some Precast Concrete. The only thing is that the quality of material used must be up to the mark and the grade of cement is the one which you desired. More ifo on the grade of cements can be obtained online. Make sure that the precast concrete is used in area, where there is a major drain in fund, which you can save. example, Precast Concrete Septic Tanks, other sewage purposes, retaining wall, electrical/gas facilities ...etc. can save a lot from your pocket. Another area in which you are going to drain your fund is painting the home. This can be avoided with a little extra care in planning the resources(paint) and the durability. A good design, coupled with planning can make everything allright. There are a number of websites around and they can help you get more info on many things that are necessary for construction / house planning . If you go through them and accept the best practices \, then you can save a lot, and yes, one more thing you have to keep in mind is the vendors/ quality of stuffs that you are going to include in to your construction.
